So, since today me and a friend encountered a bug where videos are getting skipped to the next one in the playlist after only a few seconds of playing.
When one video ends, the next one in the playlist starts as usual but only plays for about 2 seconds and then it skips automatically to one video farther and plays that, so we have to manually go back to the video that just got skipped.
Thanks for your feedback! Are the videos in the playlist from YouTube? Or from other sources as well?
I just tried to reproduce this with no success. Is anyone else experiencing this issue?
Happens every now and then for me
@user_95f53b7185f71fb I also have this issue. It happens pretty much whenever I am listening to youtube music with me mate.
Also having this issue and and this point it is almost every video. I hope this is getting fixed soon
Hey Hero, thanks for your feedback! Can you explain your issue a bit more in detail and let me know which browser you are using? Thanks!
My friends and I are experiencing a recurring problem while watching YouTube videos. Nearly every time we start a new video, or watch another in our playlist, the video will abruptly skip within the first few seconds, halfway through, right before the end, or outright skip to the next video. Even with Autoplay disabled, the issue persists.
Thanks for your feedback! With “skipped” you mean that the video is ended and the player moves to the next video? Or that the time of the video is adjusted and you hear or see little interruptions? The later could be normal when the system syncs up playback among everyone watching.
Do you see the issue as well when the owner of the room enables moderation for the player?
No, it’s not skipping in a stuttering manner. The video player is skipping around erratically. It might jump to the beginning, the middle, or the end, or even skip the entire video and start the next one. (There is no black or blank screen; it’s just a frozen image of the very beginning frame.)
Also, please clarify what you mean by “moderations.” We’re unfamiliar with this term in the context of playing videos
The question here is if someone in your room is causing these issues by interacting with the player. When the owner of the room clicks on “permissions” on the left he/she can set the permissions for the player to “Moderators only” in which case only the owner can control the player. Try to enable this and see if it makes a difference. How many users do you have in your room?
You can learn more about permissions here: How to use Watch2Gether?
No, no one in the room (which is usually only three to four of us) is interfering with the player. We’ve adjusted the permissions, but the problem persists.
The player receives inputs from all users in the room. We therefore need to figure out which client is having an issue. When you create a new room just for yourself and play YouTube videos do you still see the issue?
Just reset the site cache!
In Firefox, to the left of the URL Address bar, you should see a little lock. It’s a popdown menu.
Click the lock and select “Clear Cookies and site data…”
You’re welcome!
