User camera to main screen?

I’ve been using this site off and on, and I recall that I could click on my (or other) user icon (after enabling the camera & mic) and be on the main screen.

at this point, I can enable camera and microphone, but when I click on my icon/avatar/min-video, it does not go to main screen. is this no longer a feature, or has something else changed?
