Suddenly keep getting disconnected error pop up

I’ve been consistently using watch2gether for years. But starting yesterday, I suddenly keep getting the following error pop up randomly while I’m in my w2g room:

Error – you have been disconnected. Refresh the page to reconnect.

It happens at any point. Whether I’m watching youtube videos, videos from another website, or even just sitting in the room without any videos playing.

I have to refresh the page whenever this happens (like the error suggests), but it’s only a matter of minutes before it pops up again.

I’m the owner of the room, and it’s only happening to me.

My internet seems fine on any other website etc. so I don’t think it’s an internet issue on my end.

Thanks a lot for your feedback. This should not happen for sure. So all the other users in the room do not have this issue? Could it be that you have the room open on another device? (a mobile phone / another browser tab?)

Hi! No I’m only using it on one device, my laptop. And only one tab on my browser.

When you see the error message on the screen, could you right click on the site and select “Inspect” and email me a screenshot of the “Console” output to florian@watch2gether.com - Thanks!
