This is perhaps the strangest bug I have ever encountered. When I try to use W2G in a non private window I am unable to left click on the site at all. Right and middle click work fine. This ONLY occurs in a normal, non private Firefox window. This happens regardless of any add-ons I have enabled and has persisted across restarts of the browser and computer, and across browser versions.
Thanks a lot for your bug report. Are you sure you have tried to disable all addons (especially adblockers)? This sounds very much like an issue caused by a browser extension. In private mode all browser extensions are disabled. Let me know if this helps or not.
I agree it sounds like an add on which is why I made sure to test them all lol.
I use uBlock origin and have tested it with various configs turned on and off, as well as making sure I didn’t somehow add a weird custom filter. All of my addons are enabled in private browsing so I highly doubt it’s one of them even if I did miss one during troubleshooting. I’m off my PC for the night but I will double check all addons tomorrow and let you know the results! Lmk if there’s any other info I can provide to help diagnose this.
Thank you for getting back to me! Yes, please let me know if you find anything related to your extensions. I had another user report a similar issue, but I wasn’t able to reproduce it on my end. What version of Firefox are you using on what operating system?
Do you see this problem on all pages on Watch2Gether, e.g. also on the landing page https://w2g.tv or only in rooms? Does it happen the first time you visit the site or after you have been using it for a while?
If you can, you might want to inspect the page using the developer toolbar and see if there is some sort of inivisible element overlaying the page.
I just turned on troubleshooting mode in Firefox (temporarily disabling all extensions and themes) and the issue went away while this mode was on. However, when I re enabled normal Firefox the issue is gone entirely! Not sure how this could happen (it didn’t when I simply disabled the extensions manually) but the issue seems to be fixed, at least for now. I will let you know if it reappears. Thank you for all that you do and sorry to have bothered you! For reference in case it is still helpful I am on Windows 11 Pro running Firefox 130.0 64 bit.
Could it be that you cleared cache and cookies as well in this process? Yes please let me know when the issue appears again.
No, troubleshoot mode doesn’t automatically clear the cache nor cookies, and I did not do that this time. I’ve attempted that before and nothing happened then either.
