Hey there!
I have been using Watch2Gether for 6 years or so, to listen to music with friends.
Often there are “non-music-parts” in those music videos.
On youtube they would be skipped automatically, thanks to the Sponsorblock Extension i have installed, on Watch2Gether however:
It skips to the part AFTER the non music part, but gets reset back to the point where you had left off.
I was wondering if you could try to fix/adjust this, so these kinds of extensions work as well!
Thanks for everything!
Thank you for your feedback. Watch2Gether tries to keep all users in a room synchronised. If your extension skips part of a video, the system will undo the skip to keep you in sync with everyone else in the room. I do not really see a way to make this work without breaking the sync and thus the whole purpose of Watch2Gether.
Why doesnt it skip that for everyone tho? When i choose to skip manually, it gets applied to everyone, why does this behave diffrently?
For example: if all of the participants had this extension, would it still skip back?
Because the extension skips the Youtube video directly and not through Watch2Gether’s player controls. Watch2Gether therefore thinks the video is out of sync and tries to correct that. If you want that to work you would have to adapt the extension to work with Watch2Gether.
