Max volume on launch

My watch2gether has suddenly decided to reset my volume slider to the highest setting every time I open the site. Normally it wouldn’t be an issue, but videos auto play and my ears are blasted. If there’s a way to fix the slider or at least have a setting to turn off auto play would be great.

Thanks for your feedback! We changed the way the audio level is saved a while ago. I’ll look into it and see if we can make it more persistent. Does it keep the level for you while you are in an active session? (Does it change when the video changes while you are in a room?)

The only time it happens is when I close out of a room and join back. The same thing has been happening to all of my friends.

Happens to all my group as well

I use chrome and w2g’s controls and for me it is always 100% at the beginning of a session, so I have to lower it. If I can help you any way tell me :slight_smile:

@user_95f53b7185f71fb Not sure if this helps problem solve, but it looks like the volume is saved as a session(and not a cookie). I believe browsers’ delete session data when a tab/session is closed, so this will never save the volume across w2g sessions.

Thank you all for your feedback. The idea behind the recent change was to make storing the audio level more consistent, given that cookies are not available on all browsers within an iframed player. However, I agree that this is not an optimal solution and will work on a better one.

This has been an issue for my friends and I as well. Every time we enter into the room after closing the tab, it autoplays at full volume. It’s become quite a headache and annoyance, and this issue has turned off some of my friends from using it on their own. I’d be eager to see persistent audio return, as well as an option to disable autoplay in general.

Same issue. Audio HURTS when reopening the site or refreshing the page.

I have just released an update — the volume should now be saved across browser sessions. Bear in mind, however, that the volume is saved per room. If you create or visit a new room, the volume will be set to 100%, but on all subsequent visits, the previous volume level will be restored. It would be great if you could have a look and check if it’s working for you!
