I’m wondering how Watch2Gether handles synchronization of a YouTube video if an ad plays in the middle of it.
I would like to host some videos to watch with my friends but I’m not sure what would happen if an ad plays in between.
Good question. Whether or not to show an ad is entirely under control of YouTube’s player and Watch2Gether does not interfere with it. Our sync algorithm just tries to sync up after an ad has finished playing. It does that by skipping to the calculated playback position of the room.
