How do I allocate permanent 'Moderator' status to a particular Member in my permanent Room?

How do I allocate permanent ‘Moderator’ status to a particular Member to enable them to come into my permanent Room in my absence.
We all gather in the permanent Room on Saturdays but one or two Members may not be able to attend at that time. I would like them to be able to watch my content during the week when I might not be in the permanent W2G Room.

The members you would like to promote to ‘Moderator’ should have permanent (registered) accounts. Then you can go to the “Members” tab of the room settings dialog and assign the moderator role to them. Does that help?

He is registered but not a ‘paid’ member. Does that make a difference?
