Suddenly, the videos started appearing muted by default. I can unmute them manually, but it’s very annoying when I’m listening to a playlist! I tried to fix the problem by looking through the settings, even checking if my browser was set to auto-mute, which it isn’t. Can anyone help me? Thanks!
Thanks a lot for your feedback. The video starts muted if our player thinks that autoplay with audio is not allowed by the browser. It could be that this detection is not working with brave at the moment. I‘ll run some tests and try to figure out what happens.
Thanks! That’s kind of you!
I tried to reproduce this with my Brave installation but it seems to work fine for me. Two questions:
- Do you see the same issue when you open a Watch2Gether room in a Brave private window?
- Which operating system are you using?
Florian
- No, it works perfectly in a private window.
- I don’t understand the question, sorry I’m not very good with that kind of thing in general!
Do you have any browser extensions installed in Brave?
I have the Google Docs Offline extension, Adblock Plus, and Avira Safe Shopping.
When it works in private mode it means there is something wrong either with the browsers settings or with one of the installed extensions. You can try to disable the extensions one by one and check if that makes a difference and / or reset the browser settings for watch2gether by clicking on the settings icon next to the URL bar. Does that help?
Hi, I’m having the same issues but on Chrome. I have a couple of extensions and I tried to see if the problem solved by disabling one by one (and disabling all of them as well), but nothing seems to solve the issue. Also, I can’t reset browswer settings for w2g since it doesn’t even appear on my visited sites list (which sounds impossible since I always use it).
Would you have any idea on how to solve the issue?
Thanks in advance.
Have you tried using Watch2Gether in an incognito window? (Just for testing purposes.) Do you experience the same issue then?
It works perfectly fine, so the issue is related specifically to my browser. What do you suggest?
It could be one of your extensions or the video autoplay settings in your browser. Did you really try to disable all extensions? Not all of them are visible in the toolbar.
