All YouTube videos say I need W2gSync?

Hey-- so this afternoon I used a room on W2G that uses a playlist I imported of 30+ YouTube videos and they all played just fine (I was using Chrome with the browser extension installed).

But I went to watch the same videos in the same room again tonight and now every single video I try to play from my playlist is giving me the screen saying I need to use W2gSync in order to watch the videos with people. I tried refreshing my browser, made sure the extension didn’t need updating.

Also tried logging in with Firefox and using it with browser extension and the same issue is happening. Did something change on W2G’s end or. YouTube’s? Or is it just me?

Thanks.

Thanks for your feedback. This is usually Youtube related. Are you using some kind of VPN software? If yes, try to disable it and try again. Another option is to login to your Youtube account (if you have one) before using Watch2Gether. In this case you have to use Watch2Gether with Chrome. Does that help?

I’m logged in to YouTube and using Chrome. Not using VPN. Turned off any extensions that might be blocking cookies or other stuff.

I noticed on social media as well that YouTube kept warning I needed to login to prove I wasn’t a bot (when there were embedded videos in other people’s posts) but I am logged in. (Hmm, will try logging out and back in, maybe.) (This also happened on two different computers inside my home with different IP addresses.)

Thanks for the info. If you see this on other sites as well, it’s definitely a Youtube issue. Watch2Gether is embedding the videos using the same technique. I’ve the seen this bot message myself occasionally and unfortunately it’s not really clear to me what makes Youtube think that something is not right. Are you sharing the internet connection with someone else?
