Recently (within the last few weeks) the ads on W2G have gotten atrocious. They have started including sound-enabled ads that are playing halting, glitchy audio over the stream making music basically unlistenable. Occasionally, I’ll get a nike shoe ad that literally covers 1/3rd of the phone screen and makes it so i can’t see the chat or respond to people.
I know you need ads for revenue but this is really out of control. Can we do something about it?
Thanks for your bug report. You are right that shouldn’t be the case. We are selling our ads programmatically, so we do not know every single ad beforehand. The next time, can you take a screenshot and post it here?
Thanks a lot! You are right that should not happen. Did these ads appear this way right after the room loaded or did it take a while for them to expand to this size?
I just changed a setting in the ad setup. Do you still see these kind of ads?

Hi, I just came looking for reports of this before.
I’m afraid it’s been happening for me, too, in the last month or so. I use Watch2Gether to stream music to my friends during D&D. I log-in through my YouTube account, which I pay Premium for to avoid those ads. And we have a great time using your awesome product!
As with jommydoo above, I completely understand about the need to sell ads. But, it seems some of the forced-audio ones have snuck in again. For three weekends previous, we had to stop listening to the W2G stream because the audio ads became too intrusive to the game.

Thanks a lot for your feedback! I apologise for the issues with the ads. Are you referring to ads that appear in the player or in one of the banner ads on the site? It would be really helpful if you could take a screenshot of one of those intrusive ads and send it to florian@watch2gether.com
I’m trying to avoid audio ads but due to nature of programmatic ad sales it’s sometimes hard to keep total control over this.
